Undisker Customizing Options

Undisker offers you various functional options and provides control for the auto-update.

  • Check for update - this option indicates how often Undisker will check if the new version is avaiable.
    • Never - do not perform any automatic update. Manual update (menu Help Check for updates..) is still possible.
    • Every Day
    • Every Week
    • Every Month
  • Invalid ISO volume headers - in case of invalid CD volume header detected, there are 3 options:
    • Correct it automatically the number of sectors in volume header.
    • Leave the incorrect value in volume header
    • Ask user which option to apply for every invalid CD. For further information, please refer to Invalid CD Volume Header.
  • Enable Raw Binary mode - if this option is set, the disk image file can be used even if Undisker is not able to recognize the filesystem. This option is useful for writing boot images which do not have any filesystems (like OS/2 fixpacks) . In Raw Binary mode Undisker can write any file to any media, but will inform the user about possible inconsistencies.
  • Restore to all devices (disable validation) - Undisker always checks the filesystem of the disk image, and does not allow direct writing to the media which can not support such a filesystem. For example, writing of CD image to the hard disk makes absolutely no sense, and will destroy the content of target disk. However, for some exotic cases or plain binary disk images it may be needed to write the data anyway. If this option is set, Undisker does not perform a validation of disk image content, and it's able to write anything to any disk. CAUTION: this option is extremely dangerous! If you are not absolutely sure that this is exactly what you need, do not set this option!
  • Eject CD after burn - if this option is set, Undisker ejects the CD/DVD disk after the burn process is complete.
  • Validate CD after burn - if this option is set, Undisker checks the recorded data and compare each sector with the source image file.
  • Automatic correction of illegal filenames - by default Undisker assumes that all filenames are defined according to the industrial standards and can be used within the local Windows codepage. For some cases (like Apple CD disks with HFS filesystem) filenames may contain characters which are illegal for Windows. If this option is set, Undisker changes such characters to the symbol "_" automatically. If this option is not set, Undisker asks you to correct the invalid filename everytime during the extraction process.
  • Generate Log File - Undisker will write all its operation into the log file in system temporary folder. Filename is generated as "Undisker"+<timestamp>+".log"
