How to backup the Unlock code

Your unlock code is provided by the registration email from ShareIt. The code itself contains 6 lines of mixed-case characters. Please note, that it's extremely important to enter the unlock code exactly as it's provided. The most typical mistake is when the code is printed out or stored in Word-document. The code is too long and complicated to enter manually even from printed copy, some characters like "O" (letter "o") and "0" (digit) or "l" (small letter "L") and "1" (digit) are too easy to mix up. And text processors (like MS Word) assuming that this is just a text, and all characters are corrputed.

The most preferrable way to backuo your unlock code is to save your confirmation email to same external media in email format (MSG for Ourlook, EML for Outlook Express, etc). But if Undisker is already installed and registered, you can simply save the registration information directly from the registry.

The registration information is stored in Windows Registry under the following path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Undisker
Registry data can be saved into the file using a standard tool called regedit:
  1. Click on the Start button.
  2. From the menu that appears, choose Run.
  3. In the window that appears, there is a text area labeled Open. In that area, type "regedit" (without the quotation marks").
  4. Click the OK button (or hit the Enter or Return key on your keyboard).
  5. The Registry Editor window should open.
  6. From the Registry Editor window select My Computer -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Undisker
  7. Select File -> Export.. from the main menu. In the Export dialog winow ensure that "Export Range" option is set to "Selected branch".
  8. Select folder and the filename. Click the OK button.
Alternatively you can use the console command "REG" to make unattended backup/restore of the Undisker registry data. Following command will write the Undisker key into the file C:\backup.reg:
Reg export HKCU\Software\Undisker c:\backup.reg

and this command will restore this information from the same file:

Reg import c:\backup.reg
